Nära Döden - Villkorslöst

Nära Döden's second album, "Villkorslöst," will be released on March 7, 2025, following up on their acclaimed debut, "Slänger ingenting," from 2023.

During the creation of the new album, inspiration was constantly drawn from late 70s post-punk and Swedish 00s punk and indie scenes. Music that channels strong emotions to convey something personal, often expressed in an unconditional way.

And that is exactly what the entire second album, Villkorslöst, is—an album about change, mistakes, and accepting life as it is. About feeling defeated yet still giving. About hopelessness but still daring to hope. About being unconditional.

Musically, the album reflects Nära Döden's raw and unfiltered sound when playing together in the same room. Most of the album was recorded live under simple conditions, creating a rough and stripped-down feel. At the same time, Villkorslöst marks an evolution from the debut album—both in songwriting and production. The guitars roar behind the emotionally charged melodies, harmonies, and lyrics, carried by Hanna Winberg’s vulnerable voice, often teetering on the edge of breaking. Throughout the album, Nära Döden showcases a broad musical spectrum and a willingness to push the boundaries of what indie music can be today—balancing between rawness and carefully crafted arrangements.
