CARL BAGGE - VISITOR


"Visitor" is Carl Bagge's debut in his own name. Bagge has already managed a couple of decades in widely different but prominent contexts in Swedish music such as collaborations with Isabella Lundgren, Magnus Carlson & The Moon Ray Quintet, Svante Thuresson, Robyn, Anne Sofie von Otter to name a few.

The album "Visitor" is the result of many years of thinking about a project of his own and which finally blossomed into Carl's newly written music for this unique constellation.

Carl has taken the inspiration for the music from some of his personal role models, and the selection of these has seemingly happened by chance!

"There's so much music spinning in my head, both what I've brought with me since childhood, as well as stuff I've picked up recently. With my compositions for this album, I wanted to process this inspiration quite directly and without thinking too much about what it would become. This resulted in me writing a lot of songs, some dedicated directly to musicians or composers who made a big impression on me, such as the Brazilian Hermeto Pascoal, Arthur Honegger who was a composer of the early 20th century, the trumpeter Roy Hargrove, the pianist Kenny Kirkland , to name a few. Other compositions are freely dedicated to some place or stage in life.”
